Ernest Goggins, BA
Prevention, awareness, and education are at the forefront of the work I do as a Family Engagement Specialist for Inner Journey Consulting. My core values have always been to support families through evidence informed and culturally inclusive practices that decrease the many public health issues affecting his community, especially violence and systemic prejudice.
I’m a product of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, having gone to Milwaukee Public Schools, before graduating from UW-Milwaukee with a B.A. in sociology. I’m a husband and father of two children, and have extensive experience in the field of prevention, including trauma informed care, crisis de-escalation, program development, youth services, parent education and facilitation. I have served my community since 2005, with a focus on its marginalized members.
As a new member of the IJC team, I am elated about the opportunity to learn from fellow colleagues, support the protective factors that families already possess while also providing comprehensive/interactive engagement to help decrease current or potential future risk factors in families. I’m a versatile professional and I’m able to work with a range of communities ("from jail to Yale"). I’m excited to help those who help others and to help families in Wisconsin thrive!
